Internships at Italian Schools Abroad

Cattolica International offers the opportunity to undertake curricular internships at certified* Italian schools abroad:  (*non-state schools integrated into the Italian national education system):

PRIMARY SCHOOLS:
  • The "Aldo Moro" Italian International School in Bucharest (Romania)
  • The “Leonardo da Vinci” Institute in Lugano (Switzerland)
SCUOLE DELL’INFANZIA:
  • The Italian “Maria Montessori” Kindergarten in Barcelona (Spain)

Programme details

The programme is open to students enrolled in the Primary Education Science degree programme at the Brescia campus:

  • Internships at the primary schools in Bucharest and Lugano are reserved for students who need to complete T2 and T4.
  • The internship at the kindergarten in Barcelona is reserved for students who need to complete T1 and T3.

Students selected for the programme will arrange their training project on the basis of their internship year together with their university and school tutor.

Dates: February – April 2025

Application deadline: 12 December 2024

Students selected for the programme will be able to organise their internship on the basis of the internship hours for their study year, agreeing start and end dates directly with the school.

The following number of applicants will be selected on academic merit:

  • 3 students for the internship at the “Aldo Moro” Italian International School in Bucharest
  • 2 students for the internship at the “Leonardo da Vinci” Institute in Lugano
  • 1 student for the internship at the Italian “Maria Montessori” Kindergarten in Barcelona

Since the schools use an Italian curriculum, full credit recognition for internships is granted for these activities, as specified on page 5 of the Faculty of Education's Guide to Study Abroad Programmes. For further information, refer to the Faculty guidelines available at this link.

It is compulsory for all students taking part in an international programme organised by Cattolica International to take out a “Student Safety Package,” which includes insurance cover and an emergency app. Activation costs €75.

How to apply

  1. Attend the internship meeting organised for your year
  2. Complete the online application for your desired internship programme (after login, select “STeP Portal” and then the programme), and pay the €35 application fee (non-refundable).
  3. After applications close, candidates will be sent an email with the result of their application. Selected students will then be asked to attend an orientation meeting (mandatory), and their information will be shared with the host school.
