Italian Assistant teacher - COASIT Sydney

Cattolica International, in collaboration with COASIT, offers the opportunity to apply for the post of Italian language assistant at primary, middle and high schools in the district of New South Wales (Sydney).

The students selected will work as assistants to Italian language teachers. Activities will be undertaken in person.

These are full-time internships lasting 6 months. 

To be admitted to the selection process, the following requirements must be met:

  • Be Italian citizens
  • Be residents in Italy
  • Be native Italian speakers
  • Be born on or after 01/01/1989
  • Have English language proficiency not lower than level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Hold a
    • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent from the old system, obtained at the Catholic University + Level I Master in “Teaching Italian L2” from the Catholic University
      or
      Hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent from the old system, obtained from another university + Level I Master in “Teaching Italian L2” from the Catholic University
      or
      Hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent from the old system, obtained at the Catholic University + Certification for teaching Italian to foreigners L2 (Cedils, Dils-PG, Ditals).

The linguistic assistant positions are offered to selected Italian graduates through an announcement by universities collaborating with Co.As.It.

The interviews will be conducted in English, and will be carried out by COASIT representatives after the registration deadline. The post-interview selection process will take about two weeks.

The teaching assistants on the programme are paid AUD 1.520,00 gross per week.
The teaching assistants are responsible for all other expenses related to their stay:

  • flight 
  • accommodation
  • food 
  • visa (Working Holiday Visa)

    Access with your Icatt username and password and find the programme in the section dedicated to the offers abroad, then click on "Canidati".

    You will be requested to pay the € 35 application fee. After the payment, you will need to upload your CV and Cover letter within the application deadline.

All students who take part in an international programme promoted by Cattolica International must take out a "Student Safety Package", which includes insurance cover and an emergency app. The cost for this is €50. 

In addition to this, all students on Cattolica International mobility programmes are required to:

  • register on the Farnesina website
  • keep updated on the international situation via official channels of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in particular refer to the Safe Travel site for information about any COVID provisions in force for entry into the country where the programme will be carried out.
