Visiting Student Learning Opportunities Program

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore - Cattolica International, in partnership with AAMC-VSLO (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities) Network, offers students the opportunity to carry out a curricular internship at prestigious healthcare facilities in the United States and in other parts of the world.

The programme is aimed at students enrolled in the Master’s Degree Programmes in Medicina e Chirurgia and in Medicine and Surgery who wish to carry out clinical practice or research abroad.

Scholarships are available, with amounts varying depending on the destination and income (approximately €400 - €500 per month), granted for a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months, as reimbursement for travel and living expenses abroad.

For the purpose of granting the scholarship, a month is considered to begin on the twenty-first day (e.g., one month: at least 21 days; two months: the first full month at least 30 days + the second month at least 21 days).

The minimum period for credits to be recognised is 1 month - 100 hours of curricular internship certified and evaluated by the tutor assigned in the host institution.

For all students/recent graduates participating in international mobility programs, an insurance policy is activated, valid abroad. The policy includes health insurance and third-party liability insurance (for damages caused to third parties or their property), covering both the workplace and extracurricular activities. The insurance coverage is active from 7 days before the official start date of the internship until 7 days after the official end date of the internship. For longer stays abroad, students are required to activate a supplementary policy.
