Wenzhou Medical University – Summer Clinical programme

The programme provides opportunities to have clinical observation and practice in A – level tertiary hospitals. Explore local culture through a series of orientations and social and cultural activities.

Students can undertake a 4-week clerkship and obtain a program certificate from the hospital.

Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit: exams taken with results recorded by the end of the call for applications

Internal Medicine – Surgery – Gynecology &Obstetrics – Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) – Ophthalmology – Dermatology and Radiology.

The programme is designed for students in the clinical years of the Medicine and Surgery degree program and it’s not open to Chinese citizens.

During the selection process, priority will be given to students enrolled in the 4th and 5th year of the Medicine and Surgery degree program. Students enrolled in the 6th year will be considered only if spots remain available.

Students enrolled in the Italian-taught Medicine and Surgery program will also be evaluated if there are any unfilled positions.

Step 1: Cattolica Application 

Complete your online application available via your personal iCatt page under Services and opportunities > International mobility > Mobility calls > then in the drop-down menu select Wenzhou Medical University – Summer Clinical programme by uploading the required documents: English certification

Step 2: 

Pay the non-refundable €35 application fee.

 

Students are responsible for:

  • €50 Cattolica Program fee which includes Student Safety Package
  • Travel expenses, visa, and meals.

Wenzhou Medical University will provide with no additional costs:

  • the clerkship fee, field trip fee and accomodation fee.

Scholarships of €500 per month are available and will be reimbursed as expenses. Your program application serves as your scholarship application; no separate application is required.

Students can apply for recognition of the program as Clinical/Research electives. The academic recognition form must be completed and submitted to the International Office at the program's conclusion.

Included in the programme is the activation of the Student Safety Package, which includes: 

  • insurance cover valid for the entire length of the programme abroad.
  • activation of the Student Safety app, which helps manage emergencies

Note that Medical Malpractice/Professional Liability Insurance is not included, and selected students will bear this additional cost.
