Sichuan University – West China School of Medicine University – International Summer Camp

This program is designed to promote global collaboration in medical education, bringing together medical students from around the world to expand their international perspectives and foster meaningful connections.

The program is designed for students in the clinical years of the Medicine and Surgery degree program and it’s not open to Chinese citizens.

During the selection process, priority will be given to students enrolled in the 4th and 5th year of the Medicine and Surgery degree program. Students enrolled in the 6th year will be considered only if spots remain available.

Students enrolled in the Italian-taught Medicine and Surgery program will also be evaluated  if there are any unfilled positions.

Participants may also apply for an optional 2-week observership at West China Hospital from July 14 to July 25.

Please note that selected students must finalize an online application through the Sichuan dedicated portal by April 30, 2025.

Step 2:

Pay the non-refundable €35 application fee.

Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Academic merit: exams taken with results recorded by the end of the call for applications

 Students are responsible for:

  • €50 Cattolica Program fee which includes Student Safety Package 
  • Travel expenses, meals and visa.

Sichuan University will provide:

  • Program fees 
  • A contribution of 150 CNY for accomodation for the first two weeks of the program. Any accommodation costs beyond this period or exceeding the support provided will be the participant's responsibility
  • Contribution of 3,000 CNY for flight expenses.
     

Scholarships of €500 per month are available and will be reimbursed as expenses, exclusively for students who also apply for the optional 2-week observership. Your program application serves as your scholarship application; no separate application is required.

Students can apply for recognition of the program as Clinical/Research electives. The academic recognition form must be completed and submitted to the International Office at the program's conclusion.

Included in the programme is the activation of the Student Safety Package, which includes: 

  • insurance cover valid for the entire length of the programme abroad.
  • activation of the Student Safety app, which helps manage emergencies

Note that Medical Malpractice/Professional Liability Insurance is not included, and selected students will bear this additional cost.
