Part-time student enrolment

Students who cannot attend full time due to work, family or health reasons or for other justified personal reasons may opt, at the time of enrolment or renewal of enrolment, for a programme that allows them to carry out 50% of the didactic activities planned for each year of the programme. Slight deviations may be determined by the competent Faculty Councils, taking into account the specific features of individual programmes.

Enrolment or part-time enrolment in programmes with nationally-scheduled access is not permitted.

Students wishing to enrol on a part-time basis must first express this wish by filling in the appropriate form at the Student Services Centre of their seat.
This declaration of interest will be submitted to the relevant teaching structures for approval, and following clearance, the student may submit a formal request for part-time enrolment.
All information on the procedures, timescales and financial aspects can be obtained from the Student Services Centre at the respective seat.

Part-time enrolment requires students to maintain this option for two consecutive academic years, without prejudice to the possibility of requesting, in any year of the course, to transfer to another programme at Università Cattolica.

The normal duration of part-time programmes is as follows:

  •     six years for degree programmes;
  •     four years for graduate degree programmes;
  •     ten years for integrated five-year/six-year degree programmes.

Students enrolled in the final year of their programme are not permitted to switch from full-time to part-time status, nor are students enrolled as fuori corso or repeat students beyond the normal duration of their programme.

Students enrolling on a part-time basis are required to pay the first instalment, including university fees and tuitions, for the same amount as for full-time students.

Subsequent instalments are reduced as follows:

  • Second instalment: 50% of the amount applied to the full-time student;
  • Third instalment: 50% of the amount applied to the full-time student;
  • Fourth instalment: 50% of the amount applied to the full-time student, minus a further € 200;
  • Fifth instalment: 50% of the amount applied to the full-time student, minus an additional € 200

Undergraduate tuitions remain unchanged from those provided for full-time students under par. 8 of the General Regulations in force for the determination of university fees, with the exception of graduation sessions in extraordinary sessions (February-April) for which a reduction of 50% of the amount envisaged for full-time students is envisaged.
