Università Cattolica, through the Faculty of Business and Law, Master’s Degree Programme (Laurea Magistrale) in Global Business Management, offers its students the possibility of obtaining at the conclusion of their study path a double qualification of:

The programme covers two years of study, with the first year and the first semester of the second year undertaken at Università Cattolica and the last period at the California State University San Marcos.

Departures are scheduled approximately in December 2026 / beginning of January 2027, and the programme will end with the graduation at Università Cattolica.

To obtain the Master’s Degree in International Business from California State University San Marcos, students must complete the programme of exams set out in the Agreement.

To apply you need to register and pay the € 35 application fee (non-refundable).

For the academic year 2026/27, up to 20 students will be selected.

Cattolica International will award 3 scholarships worth €3.000 each.

For scholarship awarding purposes, a ranking will be compiled based on the following:

  • 40% weighted average or results of exams passed
  • 40% total credits accumulated
  • 20% language skills 

In the event of a tie in scores, additional qualifications will be assessed according to the following priority order:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree grade (if available for both candidates)
  2. High School Diploma grade
  3. Date of birth (the oldest candidate wins)
     

Students enrolled in the first year of Laurea Magistrale at the Faculty of Economics and Law – Laurea Magistrale in Global Business Management, can apply for the program.

In order to be selected, students applying for the Double Degree programme should have an average mark of at least 24/30 (corresponding to 3.0 GPA).
 

To be selected, students should have one of the following English language certificates:

  • TOEFL iBT: minimum score 80;
  • IELTS: minimum overall score 6, with a minimum score for each sub-section of 5.5 and a minimum score of 6 in the Writing sub-section.
     

Students have to pass all the exams of the first year of Global Business Management by September 2026 and all the exams of the first semester of the second year of Global Business Management by December 2026.

Please note: the partner university requires that all preparatory exams for the departure for the Double Degree programme be held at UCSC.
 

Please note that all students taking part in the Degree program are required, in accordance with Cattolica regulations, to take the Theology exams present in their course plan.

Selected students can do the internship (6 ECTS) during the first year at Cattolica or request its validation by passing the Master's Project activity planned at California State University, San Marcos.

In case selected students decide to validate their internship during the first year, the Master's Project will still be attended, but will be considered an extracurricular activity.
 

The final thesis of Laurea Magistrale will be discussed at Università Cattolica.

The research must be written in English, with an attached summary to be written in Italian. The final thesis will be evaluated by a supervisor at Cattolica, but it is possible to request the collaboration of a co-supervisor at California State University San Marcos.

Students will have to follow the Cattolica procedures to register for a Cattolica official Graduation day (i.e. in terms of steps, deadlines and fees).
 

The following tuition fee can be subject to change as it refers to the current academic year:

  • Cattolica application fee: €35
  • Cattolica program fee: €950
  • California State San Marcos tuition fee: $15.500 (approx. €13.000)

Students selected for the program will be responsible for the costs of their stay abroad (travel, accommodation, food and costs of materials). Students selected for the program must also be officially enrolled at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore while they are abroad (keeping the deadlines for university fees, study plans, requests for graduation, etc.).
 

Selected students will benefit from the health insurance provided by AXA in collaboration with Cattolica. In addition, the “Student Safety Package” will be activated, and the students will be able to download the Safety Check Students app for geolocation and instant communications in case of emergency. More information about the activation procedure will be provided to the selected students.

AXA insurance policy activation is compulsory for all Cattolica students doing an international experience.
