For students interested in the theoretical aspects of the physics of matter, the Faculty recommends choosing from the following courses:
- FIS/03 Solid state physics (6 ECTS)
- FIS/03 Advanced solid state physics (6 ECTS)
- FIS/03 Quantum electronics and photonics (6 ECTS).
For students interested in acquiring a computer science basis for managing large amounts of data, the Faculty recommends choosing from the following courses:

- ING-INF/05 Artificial intelligence and machine learning (6 ECTS)
