Università Cattolica, through the Faculty of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, Master of Science in Sustainable Viticulture and Enology, offers its students the possibility of obtaining, at the conclusion of their study path, a double qualification of:

  • Laurea Magistrale in Sustainable Viticulture and Enology from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
  • Master en Vigne, vin et gestion du terroir from ESA- Angers

The programme covers one and a half years of study, with the first year undertaken at Università Cattolica and the first semester of the second year at ESA in Angers. 

Departures are scheduled in October 2027 for the academic year 2027/2028. The mobility related to the Double Degree programme will be of six months.

To obtain the Master’s Degree from both institutions, students must complete the programme of exams set out in the Agreement.

To apply you need to register and pay the € 35 application fee (non-refundable).

The application is required to access the Study Plan dedicated to Double Degree students. If you are interested in the programme, please apply by the start of classes on September 21st.

There are 3 places available for the academic year 2027/2028.

Students who apply for the Double Degree programme are required to submit the Study Plan for the first year as shown in the Faculty Guide on page 55.

Students intending to apply for the Double Degree programme must have a minimum English language proficiency of B2 level, either obtained through an international certification or demonstrated by the student’s certificate of enrollment in the Master’s Degree in Sustainable Viticulture and Enology. 

Below is the list of accepted certifications:

  • TOEIC: minimum total score of 785
  • TOEFL iBT: minimum total score of 79
  • IELTS: minimum overall band score of 6
  • Cambridge First Certificate (FCE): level B2.2 

Applications will be assessed, and a ranking will be compiled based on the Faculty score calculation for Exchange programmes (you can see the applied formulas here). The ranking will take into consideration:

  • weighted average mark;
  • number of ECTS acquired;
  • language proficiency.

In the event of a tie in scores, additional qualifications will be assessed according to the following priority order:

  1. Bachelor's Degree grade (if available for both candidates);
  2. High School Diploma grade;
  3. date of birth (the oldest candidate wins).

Only exams registered in the student’s academic record by February 15th, 2027, will be taken into account for the ranking. The ranking will be compiled and published following this date.

Students have to pass all the exams of the first year of Sustainable Viticulture and Enology (including the Seminar on Theological Issues) by the end of July 2027.

Students taking part in the Double Degree programme can choose to carry out an extracurricular internship during the second semester of the second year. This will be under the supervision and assistance of Cattolica directly. Moreover, they can choose to request the co-supervision of a tutor from ESA Angers for their final thesis.

Anyway, students will be requested to follow the Cattolica procedures to register for a Cattolica official Graduation Day (i.e. in terms of steps, deadlines and fees).

Students selected for the programme will be responsible for the costs of their stay abroad (travel, accommodation, food and costs of materials). Students selected for the programme must also be officially enrolled at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore while they are abroad (keeping the deadlines for university fees, study plans, requests for graduation, etc.).

Students will benefit from the standard Erasmus Exchange scholarships for the period they spend abroad. Scholarships will be confirmed during the month of July 2027. 

The following documents could be requested:

  • ISEE Universitario
  • Receipts of payment (e.g. accommodation, transport, flights, etc.)
  • Online Learning Agreement, duly filled in with courses attended
  • Period of Study Statement, duly filled in (instructions will be provided)

Selected students will also have the opportunity to obtain an integrative scholarship from Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano. A ranking will be made and scholarships awarded, also based on the availability of funds.
 

Selected students will benefit from the health insurance provided by AXA in collaboration with Cattolica. In addition, the “Student Safety Package” will be activated, and the students will be able to download the Safety Check Students app for geolocation and instant communications in case of emergency. More information about the activation procedure will be provided to the selected students.

AXA insurance policy activation is compulsory for all Cattolica students doing an international experience.
