The ateneo+ University Card is your personal identification document: it is necessary for attending University facilities, taking examinations, recording attendance in classrooms, and for accessing services such as the library, canteen, book lending, counters on the premises and many others.
Thanks to the collaboration with Banca Popolare di Sondrio, the ateneo+ card can also be activated free of charge as a rechargeable payment card with IBAN. Once activated, the card can also be used as a bank card to receive credits relating to tax refunds, scholarships, student collaboration grants or Erasmus scholarships, always free of charge; it will also be possible to make micropayments in contactless mode, manage phone top-up operations, and pay university fees and contributions at no additional cost.
What it looks like
The ateneo+ card looks like a normal magnetic card. It has a series of data that make it effectively a personal instrument and thus enable its holder to be identified with certainty: photo, matriculation number, name and surname, date of birth.
The ateneo+ card also bears the logo of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and the electronic circuit in which the card is accepted for payment.
The ateneo+ card will be sent (not before September) to students enrolling in the University's degree programmes after their enrolment has been completed.
Shipping information
- the ateneo+ card will be sent (only within Italy) to the address entered by the student in the Enrolment Portal (not before September).
(For students resident abroad the delivery procedure is being defined). - For degree programmes in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the withdrawal of the ateneo+ card is carried out at the Student Services Centre in Rome or at the Didactic Secretariat of the course location, subject to notification of availability for withdrawal. Special notices will be sent on the iCatt portal.
- As soon as the student has received the ateneo+ card, he/she must declare its receipt on his/her personal iCatt page.
- The information note attached to the ateneo+ card illustrates the characteristics of the card as a payment instrument. If the student is interested in free activation as a payment card, simply click on the link in the email he/she will receive immediately after confirmation of receipt of the ateneo+ card. This link starts the activation process with remote recognition (i.e. no need to physically go to a bank counter).
- By activating the card as a means of payment, the student gives his or her consent to receive the expected credits on the card and authorises the bank to notify the University of the IBAN associated with the card.
