The programme offers students enrolled in the first year of their Master’s Degree at Cattolica the possibility of obtaining a Double Degree: 

  • Laurea Magistrale in Banking and Finance (B&F) from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore 
  • Master of Science (MSc) in International Financial Management from University of Groningen 

The programme covers two years of study of the Laurea Magistrale, the first year at Università Cattolica and the second year at Groningen.

Departures are scheduled in August 2026 for the academic year 2026/2027.

•    Students are waived from the test and are assigned with a B2.2 level because attending an English-taught degree course

°If Advanced Financial Accounting is taken in Year 1 at Cattolica, International Financial Reporting will be credited as extra credit and it will appear as Corporate governance and social responsibility (Part I)   
 
* IMPORTANT - Academic progression 
Programme students must pass at least the following courses of Phase 1 at Cattolica before they can start Phase 2 at UG: 

  • Advanced Microeconomics
  • Quantitative Methods for Finance
  • Corporate Finance
  • Derivatives Securities Pricing
  • Applied Econometrics

These exams are a compulsory pre-requisite to be fully admitted at Groningen and must be completed within the July session. 
 

Double Degree students at the University of Groningen will write their Master’s thesis under the supervision of a UG professor. The thesis will also be recognized as valid for Cattolica and will NOT be defended upon return. The grade awarded by the University of Groningen will be converted into thesis points according to the conversion table published online.

Please note that all students taking part in the Degree programme are required, in accordance with Cattolica regulations, to take the Theology exams present in their course plan.

Estimated cost of the programme is €2,601 for EU students and €21,400 for non-EU students. This cost may be subject to change for the next academic year, based on Groningen internal financial adjustments. 

A non-refundable application fee of 35€ is required to apply for the programme.

Upon official acceptance from Groningen, all students will have to pay a non-refundable programme fee of €500 to Cattolica International. This fee will include administrative and application fees and the student safety package and insurance. 

Cattolica International will award scholarships of €500 to eligible candidates, while funds are available. 
 
All students will be responsible for the costs of their stay abroad (travel, room and board, University of Groningen registration fees, costs of academic material, and health insurance).

Selected students must also be officially enrolled at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore during their time at University of Groningen (keeping to university set deadlines for fees, study plans, graduation scheduling requests etc). 
 

All students participating in an official Cattolica International programme must accept the “Student Safety Package” provisions by downloading the “Safety Check Students” app for the geolocation and instant messaging features to be used exclusively in the event of an emergency.

The “Student Safety Package” also includes health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the programme.
