Application and Selection through other channels

Who can apply?

All students (undergraduate, graduate, master's) and recent graduates (it is necessary to activate the internship within 12 months from the date of graduation) who have been selected for an internship abroad found independently through channels other than the STeP Portal, must necessarily proceed with the activation of the internship on the Portal.

Please note that for these types of internships, which do not result from an application made on STeP, it is not possible to apply for financial contributions provided by Cattolica International.

What to do if you are selected

The procedure for recognizing the internship as curricular is optional and does not apply to recent graduates.

After being selected by a foreign company, it is possible to check if the internship can be recognized as curricular, for study plans that allow it. To do this, it is necessary to know the Internship Regulations of your degree program and contact the Internship Tutor of your Faculty.

Each Faculty has selected Internship Tutors to whom students can refer for all academic and organizational aspects of curricular internships. The names of the Internship Tutors and their office hours are available on the page dedicated to internship activities in your degree program (Course details / Internships and placements).

The procedures for assigning credits and their number vary according to the regulations of individual Faculties and Degree Programs.

It is important to note that for internships abroad, regardless of the recognition of credits, an additional CFU (academic credit) for international activities will automatically be added to the student's record if this is their first overseas experience with Cattolica International during their current course of study.

After being selected, and in order to proceed with the activation of the internship on the STeP Portal, it is necessary to verify that the company or foreign organization where the internship will take place is registered on the portal.

To perform this verification, you can contact us via email at wea@unicatt.it. If the organization is not yet registered, the company must complete the registration process independently by following the instructions in the Company Registration Guide.

Please note that the registration must be done exclusively by the company.

Once the registration request is received, our office will verify the details and approve it, sending an automatic confirmation email directly to the organization.

After the foreign company is correctly registered on the STeP Portal, and after verifying the possibility of recognizing the internship as curricular (if applicable), it is necessary to proceed with the activation of the internship through the STeP Portal.

This procedure is mandatory and must be completed by the student at least 5 days before the internship begins.

For more details and information, you can refer to the Activation Guide.

Insurance and Safety App

For all students and recent graduates participating in international mobility programs, an insurance policy is activated, valid for abroad. The policy includes:

  • Health insurance
  • Civil liability towards third parties (for damages caused to third parties or their property)
  • Work accidents

The insurance coverage is active from 7 days before the official start date of the internship and up to 7 days after the official end date of the internship. For stays abroad lasting longer periods, students are required to activate supplementary insurance.

All students/recent graduates who activate an internship abroad are required to download and activate the "Safety Check Students" app, created for managing emergency situations.
Further information is available on the STeP portal and on the "Student Safety Package" page.
