Application and Selection through the STeP Portal

Who can access the STeP Portal?

All students (undergraduate, master's, and postgraduate) and recent graduates of Università Cattolica can access the STeP portal and apply for international internship and job opportunities.

Note: You must activate the internship within 12 months of your graduation date.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to check the specific requirements set by each company, including:

  • Application deadlines
  • Internship duration
  • Required academic background
  • Language skills required

How to apply?

  • Browse the available listings on the STeP portal - international section
  • Pay the €35 application fee (valid for 6 months - non-refundable)
  • Submit your application by uploading your CV and Cover Letter

For more details and information, you can consult the Application Guide.

What to do in case of selection?

The process of recognizing the internship as part of the curriculum is optional and does not apply to recent graduates.

After being selected by a foreign company, it is possible to check if the internship can be recognized as curricular, according to the study plans that allow it. To do so, you need to know the Internship Regulation of your degree program and contact your Faculty's Internship Tutor.

Each Faculty has selected Internship Tutors whom students can refer to for all didactic and organizational aspects of the curricular internship. The names of the Internship Tutors and their office hours are available on the page dedicated to internship activities in your degree program (Course Details / Tirocini e Stage).

The procedures for assigning credits and their number vary depending on the regulations of individual Faculties and Degree Programs.

Please note that for internships abroad, regardless of whether credits are recognized or not, an additional CFU for international activity will be automatically added to your academic record if it is the first international experience with Cattolica International during your current study program.

After being selected by a foreign company (and possibly verifying the possibility of credit recognition), you must proceed with the activation of the internship through the STeP Portal.
This procedure is mandatory and must be completed by the student at least 5 days before the start of the internship.

For more details and information, you can consult the Activation Guide.

Insurance and Safety App

For all students and recent graduates participating in international mobility programs, an insurance policy is activated, valid for abroad. The policy includes:

  • Health insurance
  • Civil liability towards third parties (for damages caused to third parties or their property)
  • Work accidents

The insurance coverage is active from 7 days before the official start date of the internship and up to 7 days after the official end date of the internship. For stays abroad lasting longer periods, students are required to activate supplementary insurance.

All students/recent graduates who activate an internship abroad are required to download and activate the "Safety Check Students" app, created for managing emergency situations.
Further information is available on the STeP portal and on the "Student Safety Package" page.
