The Triple Degree programme is open to students who are enrolled for the first time in Year 1 of the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree Programme in Medicine and Surgery for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Candidates must submit their application and upload a copy of English language proficiency certificate, which was submitted for enrolment to the degree programme in Medicine and Surgery, through the iCatt personal webpage and pay the application fee of 35 euros by March 8, 2024.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

For the Summer Session I applications will be evaluated (by the end of March) with reference to the following criteria:

• Successful completion of the Basic Sciences and/or Biomedical Sciences I examinations
• Score obtained at the admission test to the Medicine and Surgery Degree Programme.

For the Summer Session II applications will be evaluated (by the end of March) with reference to the following criteria:

• Successful completion of all Year 1 Cattolica exams with an overall GPA (marks and credits) above the 50th percentile of grades distribution of their class
• Summer session I minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Graduate courses: B- grade or higher in each individual courses
• A ranking will be compiled based on the overall GPA (marks and credits)
• An interview with the Selection Panel may be required.

For the Triple Degree programme students will be evaluated and conditionally accepted (by the end of April of Year 3 at Cattolica) with reference to the following criteria:

• Successful completion of all Year 1 and 2 Cattolica examinations with an overall GPA (marks and credits) above the 50th percentile of grades distribution of their class (minimum 24/30)
• Successful completion of first semester of Year 3 exams by April with an overall GPA (marks and credits) above the 50th percentile of grades distribution of their class (minimum 24/30)
• Summer session I - II minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Graduate courses: B- grade or higher in each individual courses
• Positive evaluation and final approval by the SKMC Admission Committee.

In order to be officially admitted to the Triple Degree programme, conditionally accepted students have to meet the following requirements:

• Completion of all Year 3 Cattolica exams by the end of the Summer exam session of the third year (June-July) maintaining a minimum GPA of 24/30.
• Remaining in Good Academic Standing for MS in Health Policy.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Earn a B- grade or higher in individual courses
    
    If a student is not in good academic standing, they will be placed on Academic Probation and could be at risk of being withdrawn from the programme. Please refer to the College Student Handbook for more detail on policies.

Admittance to the JCPH MS programme involves an online application which must be completed by one week prior to the start of class. Students should expect to spend an average of 10-12 hours per week in the online MS courses. Though courses are asynchronous, there are weekly deadlines and obligations including assignments and participation. Instructors are not obligated to take into account students’ academic schedules in terms of course commitment.

Costs - Triple Degree programme

Students will be advised of definitive costs and means of payment in good time before departure. The costs below may be subject to change as they are updated to the current academic year.

• Cattolica Tuition fee for year 1, 2, and 3
   
• Thomas Jefferson University Summer session I and II tuition fees are charged on a per-credit basis.
  • Undergraduate (UG) courses - $605/ credit
    Compulsory courses: Writing Seminar 1 (Year 1) & Writing Seminar 2 (Year 2). Each are 3 credits for a total undergraduate of 6 credits.
  • Graduate (GR) courses (Master of Science in Health Policy focusing on International Health & Medicine) - $755/credit
    Compulsory courses: minimum 2 per Summer
    NB: Writing Seminar 1 & 2 may be waived for those who have earned these credits in equivalent courses from another College/ University.
    •  Total TJU tuition for Summer 1 (3 UG Credits + 6 GR Credits): $1815 + $4530
    • Total TJU tuition for Summer 2 (3 UG Credits + 6 GR Credits): $1815 + $4530
    • Cattolica Study abroad Fee € 11.000/Y for year 4, 5 and 6
    • Total TJU tuition and fees of the Triple Degree Programme per year (SKMC MD & MS Health Policy with a concentration on International Health and Medicine): $45,674/ Year

The tuition for SKMC and the JCPH Master’s programme has been discounted for students enrolled in the Triple Degree programme.

Tuition is due by the first day of classes. For additional information on payment, see the Jefferson Student Accounts website. Students undertaking the Triple Degree study programme will have to bear the additional cost of their study at Thomas Jefferson University, e.g. travel, food and accommodation, study materials, health insurance and visas.

Costs - Double Degree programme

Students interested in pursuing the MD from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and the Master of Science in Health Policy from Jefferson College of Population Health

• Cattolica Tuition fee for year 1 to 6
• Tuition fee for the Master of Science programme at College Population Health (7 Graduate courses/3 credits each – $755/credit) €15,855

Students continuing with the Triple Degree option will pay the Study abroad fee of 11.000€ for each year of mobility at SKMC. No other tuition fees will be required at Cattolica for year 4, 5 and 6.

All students enrolled at SKMC will benefit from a 1.500€ scholarship that will be issued after the beginning of the courses at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.

No tuition refunds will be made for students who withdraw from SKMC or JCPH Master’s Programme after a semester has begun.

• Students who have been accepted into the programme may elect to voluntarily withdraw from participation at any time during the Programme and elect to proceed in either the Cattolica degree programme or the SKMC MD programme. Students must notify in writing the International Office at Cattolica and the Students Affairs Office at SKMC.
• Students who withdraw after the drop period listed on the Academic Calendar will receive a progressively decreasing refund each week. There’s a specific point beyond which no refund will be provided.”
• Students who withdraw from Cattolica M&S once admitted to SKMC will be required to pay the normal (without discount) SKMC tuition and fees for the 4-year SKMC curriculum.
• Students who withdraw from Cattolica M&S and remain with SKMC will be required to repay the subsidies for all completed semesters at SKMC and the JCPH.
• Students who withdraw from SKMC and wish to continue in the JCPH Master’s Programme while at Cattolica M&S will still receive the discounted tuition.
• Students who withdraw from Cattolica M&S and wish to continue the JCPH Master’s programme while at SKMC will lose the JCPH discounted tuition, and must take three additional courses to earn the Masters degree.
• Students who withdraw from SKMC before completing the programme and wish to continue with Laurea Magistrale in M&S at Cattolica, will pay full tuition fees at Cattolica.
• Students who withdraw from both Cattolica M&S and SKMC will not be required to repay the subsidies for all completed semesters.

All students participating in an official Cattolica International programme must accept the “Student Safety Package” provisions by downloading the “Safety Check Students” app for the geo- location and instant messaging features to be used exclusively in the event of an emergency. The “Student Safety Package” also includes health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the programme.
