The programme offers students enrolled in the third year of their Bachelor’s Degree at Cattolica the possibility of obtaining a Double Degree: 

  • Laurea triennale in Economia dei Mercati e degli Intermediari Finanziari (curriculum EMIF or Finance) / Business and Finance from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore 
  • Master of Science in Finance (MSF) from Fordham University   

The programme covers two years and a half of study at Università Cattolica plus a semester and an intensive summer term at Fordham University (6 weeks), which will take place starting from January 2028.

Note

In case of concurrent application to another semester abroad programme: Exchange (Erasmus+ Overseas), ISEP Exchange, or Study Abroad, accepting the Double Degree placement will automatically cancel the application for the semester programme.

  • Students must be enrolled in the third year of Laurea triennale in Economia dei Mercati e degli Intermediari Finanziari (EMIF)/Business and Finance/Finance 
  • Minimum weighted average of 24/30
  • Valid TOEFL or IELTS certificate (no more than 2 years from the issue date), with a score of at least 83 for TOEFL and 6.5 for IELTS
  • Students can apply if they have maximum one exam left from the second year, to be completed by the winter session

 

The exams to be taken at Università Cattolica in the first semester of the third year are the following:  

Laurea triennale in Economia dei Mercati e degli Intermediari Finanziari - Curriculum EMIF:

  • Finanza aziendale – 10 CFU
  • Strumenti derivati – 5 CFU

Laurea triennale in Economia dei Mercati e degli Intermediari Finanziari - Curriculum Finance:

  • Corporate Finance – 10 CFU
  • Derivatives – 5 CFU

Laurea triennale in Business and Finance:

  • Human Resources and Management – 10 CFU
  • Banking and Finance for SMEs – 5 CFU

 

In case some Cattolica students are delayed in passing their compulsory exams by December, they may begin the Spring Term at Fordham Gabelli virtually and will arrive in New York by mid February.

If the student does not successfully complete all the exams required at UC by the end of the winter examination session, they will no longer be eligible to pursue the Double Degree. 

If any of the prerequisite is not satisfied, but the general academic curriculum is good, the admission will be evaluated on a case by case basis, by Fordham University.
 

To obtain an MSc in Finance at Fordham University, students must complete all exams as set out in the agreement.

Spring Courses at Fordham

Cattolica students will take the following courses in the Spring Term (Term 1) at Fordham Gabelli.

GFGB 7039. Computational Finance (3 credits) – Core
GFGB 7035. Intl Trade & Development (3 Credits)
GFGB 7050. Machine Learning for Finance (3 Credits)
GFGB 6005. Financial Modeling. (3 Credits) (Corporate Finance is a prerequisite)

 

After Successful Completion of the Spring Term
  • During Spring Term Cattolica students will then apply and will enroll in the MSF Collaborative Program (Summer)
  • Cattolica students will have to submit to the Admissions Office their Final Official Transcript with the Date of the Degree Conferred (for the Admissions File at the right time). Students will have to graduate in July. The final thesis for the completion of the degree at Università Cattolica will be prepared and discussed in accordance with the rules set by the Faculty Board

After Successful Completion of the Summer Term
  • At the completion of the Summer Term Cattolica students will complete the Fordham Gabelli MSF Degree
  • Upon completion of the Summer Term Cattolica students are potentially eligible for extended OPT
  • If students choose to enroll in the Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance (B&F) or the Master’s Degree in Economia dei Mercati e degli Intermediari Finanziari  (EMIF), they may transfer 12 credits from elective courses

Please note that all the students taking part in the Degree Programme are required, in accordance with Cattolica regulations, to take the Theology exams present in their course plan. 

The fee for the Spring term at Fordham University for 2027 edition is $26,412. Cattolica students will benefit of a 40% scholarship and the reduced fee will be $16,092.

The fee for the Master’s programme at Fordham University for 2027 edition is as follows:

* Please note that kitchen facilities are provided within the Dormitories.  (McMahon Hall - Double Room Occupancy).

** Please also note that Breakfast / Lunch is provided during the Monday – Friday Class Dates at the Community Dining Center within the MSF Collaborative Program.

This cost may be subject to change for the next academic year, based on Fordham internal financial adjustments. 
A non-refundable application fee of €35 is required to apply for the programme.

Upon official acceptance from Fordham, all students will have to pay a non-refundable programme fee of €950 to Cattolica International. This fee will include administrative and application fees and the student safety package and insurance. 

Cattolica International will award scholarships of €1,500 to eligible candidates, while funds are available. 

All students will be responsible for the costs of their stay abroad (travel, room and board, costs of academic material, health insurance and visa issuance fees). 

Selected students must also be officially enrolled at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore during their time at Fordham University (respecting all university set deadlines for fees, study plans, graduation scheduling requests etc). 

All students participating in an official Cattolica International programme must accept the “Student Safety Package” provisions by downloading the “Safety Check Students” app for the geolocation and instant messaging features to be used exclusively in the event of an emergency.

The “Student Safety Package” also includes health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the programme.
