Harvard University

The programme provides access to the “Adult, Extension, & Visiting College” Harvard Summer School 2025 academic offer.

The programme allows you to:

  • choose one course (4 credits) for each 3-week session
  • choose one course (4 credits) for each 4-week session
  • choose two courses (4 credits + 4 credits, for a total of 8 credits) for the 7-week session

It is possible to combine two three-week sessions, attending one course per session. Other combinations are not allowed.

Guidelines to the academic offer:

  • Refer to the HSS DCE Course Search for the academic offer. Pay particular attention to course dates, prerequisites and delivery methods (select Harvard Summer School 2025 - Adult, Extension, & Visiting College" and filter by "on campus" mode). Note that the course list is being updated and will be available in January 2025. In the meantime, you can consult the 2024 offerings
  • It is possible to request the recognition of ECTS credits. The request for recognition must be submitted before departure, following the procedure established by your Faculty. Students are encouraged to carefully read the Faculty regulations and related procedures.
  • For Master’s Degree students: you can receive a Graduate Certificate issued by Harvard University by attending 1 or 2 courses on campus during the summer and then continuing with 2 or 3 courses undertaken remotely. Information is available on the Harvard University - Cambridge site.

 

For the Brescia campus, the faculties have identified some recommended exams:

You must have one of the following certificates, dated May 2023 or later, in order to apply for the programme.

  • TOEFL iBT: 100 minimum
  • IELTS Academic: 7.0 minimum
  • PTE Academic: 70 minimum
  • Duolingo English Test (DET): 125 minimum

English Proficiency Requirement - Harvard Summer School - section “Submitting a Qualifying Test Score”

Neither the Cattolica International language test nor enrolment on a Università Cattolica degree programme delivered in English are considered valid proof of language level for this programme.

You can either stay on campus at the Harvard University facilities, or you can organise your accommodation independently.

When applications have closed and you have received confirmation of admission to courses at Harvard University, you can independently book your accommodation: Housing Request - Harvard Summer School.

Cost

  • Accommodation and meals - 3 weeks: $3,450
  • Accommodation and meals - 4 weeks: $4,600
  • Accommodation and meals - 7 weeks: $7,050

  • 7 weeks (2 courses: 4 + 4 credits, 8 credits in total): $ 6,930
  • 4 weeks (1 course: 4 credits): $ 3,465
  • 3 weeks (1 course: 4 credits): $ 3,465

Programme fee: € 300 (non-refundable)

The cost of the programme includes:

  • orientation and help when enrolling on courses at Harvard University
  • insurance cover and Student Safety Package activated by Cattolica International
  • US health insurance set up by HSS
  • assistance leading up to departure
  • enrollment and attendance in one course per three- or four-week session / two courses for the seven-week full-term session.
  • access to all services on campus (libraries, museums, sports facilities, etc.)
  • assistance on return with procedures for registering results of examinations taken abroad
  • official certificate of attendance with exam grades
  • "Welcome Back: unpack your experience!" session upon return to Italy, held by Cattolica International

The following are not covered by the cost of the programme:

  • return flights
  • accommodation and meals (see section on housing)
  • cost of issue of study visa
  • costs of study materials
  • any items not listed specifically above
     

Cattolica is offering 10 scholarships to the value of € 1,500 each.

Notes on scholarships:

  • The scholarships are assigned on the basis of academic merit and are paid as reimbursement of expenses related to the programme.
  • You do not need to make a separate application for a scholarship: your application is automatically submitted when you apply for the programme. 
  • Current students will be prioritised over recent graduates in determining the assignment of scholarships.
     

Students selected for the programme will have to apply for a student visa.

You can only start your visa application when you have been accepted on the courses. Further information will be provided after applications close.

You must have a valid passport. If you do not have a passport, you must apply for one as soon as possible.
