Preparation Courses for IELTS Certification

Cattolica International offers Cattolica students English language courses to prepare for Academic IELTS international certification.

The aim of the course is to prepare students so that they can achieve the best result they can in their IELTS exam. Students will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge of English and develop the specific skills needed to take the exam: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

Students with this certification can apply for international programmes. The language level demonstrated by the IELTS level will improve your score in the ranking. Language requirements may vary so you must be sure to check the specific requirement for each programme.

Be aware that at the moment of application for an international programme promoted by Cattolica International you will be asked to submit the result of the certification obtained.

The courses are delivered both online and in person and are directed towards students from all campuses.

REGISTRATION ACADEMIC IELTS:
  • The IELTS exam fees are NOT included with the fee for this preparation course.
  • It is your own responsibility to register for the IELTS exam and pay the relevant fee.

Since there is a limited number of test places, Cattolica International advises all students to register for the exam on their selected date as soon as possible to be sure to secure a place. You must also take into account when each organisation/institution requires an IELTS result.

The course requires active participation in class, whether online or in person. It is also essential that participants undertake the study exercises set by the teacher between classes.

There is a maximum number of 20 participants per class

Should a minimum number of students not be enrolled for a specific course, Cattolica International reserves the right to propose alternative options -- i.e., delivery method or days and times -- or to cancel the course and refund the full amount paid.

  • The online courses are held via live streaming on fixed days and times and are taught by our certified English mother-tongue teachers. Lessons are held in synchronous mode and student engagement is encouraged by interactive course delivery. Lessons are not recorded.
  • The courses delivered in person are held at the Milan campus, and can be attended by students from all campuses.

Because of the interactive nature of the classes, student attendance is fundamental to the success of the course and the achievement of course objectives.

You need to complete an online application and certify your level of English proficiency by either presenting an existing language certification or taking a test available for download from the application itself.

  • For all enrollments for the first semester: If you have a language certification obtained from November 1, 2022, onwards, you must upload it within the application.
  • For all enrollments for the second semester: If you have a language certification obtained from May 1, 2023, onwards, you must upload it within the application.
  • If you do not have a language certification, you need to take an assessment test available within the application. This allows the instructors to accurately evaluate your starting language level and ensure that you have sufficient language proficiency to follow the course effectively.

Infosessions are offered online (via Teams) to ensure the participation of students from all campuses. Registration is required.
