Students enrolled in the 2nd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistic Sciences – Curriculum in Business Language Expert / Languages for Business.

 

Academic requirements

  • Milan campus: at least 113 ECTS credits achieved before departure
  • Brescia campus: at least 120 ECTS credits achieved before departure
  • Weighted average grade: minimum 23/30

 

Language requirements

  • HSK 4: required for access to the summer course
  • HSK 5: required for access to the academic year

Admission is subject to the final evaluation by BLCU.

Note: Selected students will be enrolled in the 2nd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language at BLCU.

  • Students must maintain regular enrolment at Università Cattolica even during their study period abroad.
  • Students will be enrolled as “repeating” students in the 3rd year at UCSC for the 4th year of study (corresponding to the 2nd year at BLCU).

During the two-year study period in China, students are required to complete a theology training course, to be agreed with the Ecclesiastical Assistant of their home campus, equivalent to Theology 3.

  • Annual completion of the Programme Plan, following the guidelines set out in the double degree study plan (UCSC–BLCU) of the student’s home campus.
  • Recognition of exams taken abroad through the Transcript of Records.

To obtain the Double Degree, students must:

  • Complete all exams required by both UCSC and BLCU.
  • Submit a final written project at the end of the two academic years at BLCU.

 

Award of the Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistic Sciences – Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

Students must formally apply for graduation according to the deadlines established by the Faculty.
The final examination for the Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistic Sciences will be based on the completion of two courses at BLCU, which include the preparation of a written paper.

 

Award of the Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language – Beijing Language and Culture University

At the end of the two academic years at BLCU, an additional semester will be dedicated to the preparation of the final thesis (a written paper of approximately 5,000 Chinese characters).
The thesis cannot be discussed before the end of that semester (in December) and the form of discussion — whether in person or online — will be agreed upon on a case-by-case basis.

The written thesis submitted for the award of the Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language may also be considered as part of the preparatory work for the Master’s thesis.

After obtaining the Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language from BLCU, students who wish to continue their studies at Università Cattolica — in addition to being awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistic Sciences — may be granted credit recognition as follows:

  • 46 ECTS credits for enrolment in the Master’s Degree in Linguistic Sciences – curriculum in International Management (Milan campus)
  • 46 ECTS credits for enrolment in the Master’s Degree in Linguistic Sciences – curriculum in Languages for Management and International Business (Brescia campus)

  • Application fee: €35 (non-refundable), payable to Cattolica International at the time of application.
  • Programme fee: €950 (includes administrative costs, insurance, and safety package), payable to Cattolica International after selection.
  • BLCU tuition fees: to be paid according to the terms established annually by the partner university.
    • Practical Chinese language course (8 weeks): 7,700 RMB
    • Annual tuition: 25,800 RMB
    • Final thesis (supervision and oral defence): 8,400 RMB
    • On-campus accommodation (Building 17):
      • Single room: 150 RMB/night
      • Double room: 90 RMB/night per person

Please note: all costs are indicative and may be subject to change by BLCU.

  • Additional costs borne by the student: flights, meals, learning materials, Chinese health insurance, and visa expenses.

For the academic year 2026/27, Cattolica International offers two scholarships worth €1,000 per year, available until funds are exhausted.

All students will be covered by the insurance policy arranged by the University in collaboration with AXA.
In addition, the Student Safety Package will be activated, providing access to the “Safety Check Students” app for geolocation and instant communication in case of emergency.
Further details on activation procedures will be provided to selected students.

Please note that Università Cattolica will not be able to guarantee student departures in the event that the international or host-country context does not allow mobility to take place safely.
