Undergraduate Programmes

Students intending to graduate must:

  1. choose a topic, checking the requirements
  2. submit the application for admission to the final examination, verifying the curricular/temporal requirements
  3. deliver the final dissertation in the prescribed manner

The topic must be submitted on your iCatt personal page (Online registrar > Final examination > Application for graduation).

Please refer to the following documents for further details on the final examination:

Final examination - Undergraduate degree programme
Final examination - Sciences for Social Work degree programme

Final test regulations applied from summer session 2025 onwards

In order to access the final exam, the student must request through the personal iCatt page, at least 15 days before the graduation session, the authorization of the reference lecturer. For this purpose, the reference lecturer will evaluate the progress of the work and in particular the completeness of the treatment in relation to what was foreseen in the originally approved outline. The contents of the treatment delimit the topics on which the candidate will be called upon to respond in discussion.

Final Test - Comes and Comma

Final Test - Irga

In order to apply for admission to the final examination, you must comply with:

  • submission deadline: at least 45 days before the session. Details in the calendar.
  • curricular requirements for the summer session:
    • having no more than 55 ECTS credits in debt ('Theology' courses and final examination are not included in the count);
    • having no more than 40 ECTS credits in debt ('Theology' courses and final examination are not included in the count) for former Sociology courses.
  • curricular requirements for all other sessions:
    • having no more than 30 ECTS credits in debt ('Theology' courses and final examination are not included in the count).

The dedicated function (Online registrar > Final examination > Application for graduation) involves the following steps:

  1. filling in and forwarding the application to the professor for approval;
  2. approval or refusal by the professor/lecturer;
  3. payment of the graduation fee with Pago PA.

Any changes to the title of the final dissertation, approved by the professor, must be made at the time the application is completed. The title contained must therefore be definitive, as no further changes can be accepted.

TUTORIAL

The .pdf file of the dissertation must be sent to the professor via the personal iCatt page (Online registrar > Final examination > Submit final dissertation). The professor may request a hard copy if necessary.

The dissertation must be uploaded to the iCatt personal page no later than 8 days before the start date of the proclamation sessions (see calendar).

The deadline for submitting the dissertation is not to be missed.

In the event that the professor appointed to chair the commission is unable to do it, as communicated close to the date of the exam, a substitute will be appointed to open the exam call on the scheduled date, avoiding postponement of the call.

In order to reduce the critical situations linked to the excessive proximity or overlap of the date of the end of the exam session (last call) with the date of the start of the graduation session, it will be possible for undergraduates to close their careers (understood as the recording of all exams) within 7 calendar days of the start of the graduation session, i.e. the time required to carry out the checks on the student's career. To this end, the examination calendar will be scheduled so that undergraduate students can take advantage of the profit exam calls as follows

  • Students registered in the summer session (June-July): the first 2 out of 3 calls (or the first call out of 2, where applicable).
  • Students registered in the autumn session (September-October): first call in 2.
  • Students registered in the special session (December-April): the first 2 out of 3 calls (or the first call out of 2, where applicable).

The last call of each session may also be used if the examination is registered within 7 calendar days before the start of the graduation session.

Undergraduate students who fail to graduate in the call for which they have applied for admission to the final examination must notify both the professor/supervisor and the Student Services Centre of the relevant seat.
Notification to the Student Services Centre should be made by writing via the iCatt Request for information form under Lessons, Exams and Final Examination > Final Examination.

For a subsequent graduation session, a new application for admission to the final examination must be submitted with a €16 stamp duty and a receipt of payment of the Undergraduate Contribution.

Graduating students will receive the convocation exclusively via their iCatt personal page approximately 10 days before the scheduled graduation date (Online registrar > Final Examination section).

BASIC COUNTING

All marks of the profit examinations multiplied by the number of ECTS credits of each examination are added together.
The sum is divided by the total weight in ECTS credits of the course considered (average in thirtieths).
The average in thirtieths thus obtained is converted into 110ths by multiplying the value obtained by 11 and dividing it by 3.

FINAL EXAMINATION MARK

The graduation commission may award additional points, based on an overall assessment of the results of the discussion and the written dissertation. The particular brilliance shown by the candidate may result in the award of honours or an additional point if the maximum mark of 110 has not already been achieved.
Additional points may be awarded by the commission for supernumerary examinations assessed as pertinent to the programme and not taken into account in determining the basic average, honours obtained in profit examinations, international exchange programmes (Erasmus, FPA, etc.), other extra-curricular activities deemed relevant to the characteristics of the degree programme. Non-Italian students may be granted an increase equal to that for experiences abroad for Italian students.

THEOLOGIES BONUS

Theology exams average mark greater than or equal to 30: 1 point
Theology exams average mark greater than or equal to 26 and less than 30: 0.5 points
Theology exams average mark lower than 26: 0 points.
