Exam approval | Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

A B2 level of English proficiency is required.

The following international certifications obtained from May 2024 onwards are accepted:

  • Cambridge B2 First: minimum score 160
  • TOEFL iBT: minimum score 65
  • IELTS: minimum score 5.5
  • Duolingo English Test (DET): minimum score 100

  • If you do not hold one of the above certifications, you may take the Cattolica International English language test.
    • During the online application process, you may select the date on which to sit the test. It is recommended to choose the earliest available date in order to avoid the risk of no remaining places.
    • The test will be held online and can be booked directly during the application phase. The Zoom link will be sent by email by the day before the test session.
    • The test may be taken only once.
    • If you have already taken the internal Cattolica International test for other study-abroad programmes (from May 2024 onwards) and obtained a sufficient result, you may choose not to take it again and keep the previous result valid. In this case, you must indicate within the online application the date on which the test was taken.
  • Students enrolled in a Cattolica degree programme fully taught in English may access the programme by attaching a self-certification of enrolment in their degree programme.
    • The document can be downloaded from the iCatt page: Online Student Services – Declarations replacing certificates – Enrolment with study plan.
    • For the purposes of the ranking used for scholarship allocation, a B2.2 level score will be automatically assigned.
