The group tutoring service was first introduced for new students in 1999. Today, around 100 tutors support students enrolled in undergraduate and integrated degree programmes across our twelve Faculties.
Tutors are carefully selected graduates, recent graduates and PhD students who volunteer their time and experience to welcome and support new students throughout their university journey.
Their role is to help students settle into university life by providing useful information, offering individual or group guidance on academic matters, and supporting students who may be experiencing difficulties.
Why contact your tutor?
The group tutoring service is available in each of the University’s Faculties to students enrolled in undergraduate and integrated degree programmes.
Tutors are available every week at scheduled meeting times, either in person, by telephone or by email. No appointment is necessary. To find out when and where meetings take place, click on “Chi è il tuo tutor” (“Who is your tutor?”) on your web page.
If you are a new student, your tutor can help you organise your timetable, check course syllabuses, discover the University’s services and learn how to use them, navigate the website, and make the most of tools such as iCatt and Blackboard.
Remember to check your iCatt inbox regularly: your tutor will contact you with invitations to important information sessions and social events designed to help you make the most of your university experience.
The tutoring service is also available to second- and third-year students, who can turn to their tutor for personalised advice on organisation, study methods and time management.
