International Summer School: “Traces of the past and prospects for the future: Linguistic and cultural practices in Estonia”

Università Cattolica, in collaboration with the Estonian Literary Museum (Estonia), the Jagiellonian University (Polonia), and Università E-Campus (Italia), offers an International Summer School designed to enhance Russian language proficiency (B2–C1 level) and to develop intercultural communication skills. The project is coordinated by Professor Calusio.

I partecipanti acquisiranno conoscenze specifiche sull’Estonia e avranno l’opportunità di creare reti accademiche internazionali d’eccellenza.

This experience represents a valuable opportunity to train a new generation of specialists capable of working in multilingual and multicultural environments, while strengthening international ties.

The programme is intended for students of Russian language enrolled in the Faculty of Linguistic Sciences and Foreign Literatures (Milan and Brescia campuses):

  • 2nd and 3rd year of Bachelor’s degree programmes
  • 1st and 2nd year of Master’s degree programmes

  • 4 CFU credits awarded as “Other educational activities / Elective credits”.
  • Upon completion of the programme, 1 additional CFUcredit will be awarded for participation in the International Activity, provided that this is the student’s first international mobility experience within their current cycle of study.

The programme will be conducted in Russian.

No language certification is required, as the programme is exclusively intended for students of Russian language.

Students will be accommodated in shared rooms at the Downtown Hostel, a student residence located in Tartu.

The programme fee is € 600, plus a € 35 non-refundable application fee.

 

The programme fee includes:
  • Orientation and support during the application process
  • Insurance coverage, emergency contact number, and Student Safety Package
  • Pre-departure assistance
  • Tutoring during the stay abroad
  • Accommodation in shared rooms
  • Meals (8 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 2 dinners)
  • Classes
  • Excursions
  • Certificate of attendance
  • Assistance with ECTS credit recognition procedures upon return
  • Post-return self-assessment session “Welcome Back: unpack your experience!” organised by Cattolica International

 

The programme fee does not include:
  • Round-trip flights
  • Trip to Tartu
  • Any costs related to the issuance of a student visa for non-EU students
  • Any items not expressly listed above

Estonia is a member of the Schengen Area; therefore, students holding Italian citizenship do not require a visa to enter the country.

All students are strongly advised to check the validity of their travel documents (passport or national identity card valid for travel abroad).

Students holding non-EU citizenship are invited to promptly contact programmi.internazionali@unicatt.it and to carefully check the entry requirements applicable to Estonia.
