Clinical Electives - tirocinio formativo

The following mobility positions are available:

• 3 undergraduate students (3 months each) - Students enrolled in at least the 3rd year of Degree Courses in Medicine and Surgery.
• 2 postgraduate students (3 months each) - Medical residents, PhD candidates, Post-doctoral fellows.

PhD candidates and medical residents holding scholarships or training contracts funded by the European Commission or other EU funds (PON, POR, PNRR, etc.) are not eligible to participate, as such funding is incompatible with the Erasmus+ KA171 grant. Participation on a zero-grant basis is not permitted.

Applicants must:

• Be regularly enrolled at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
• Meet the curricular level requirements specified in Art. 2.
• Demonstrate English language proficiency at minimum B2 level.
• Comply with any academic and administrative requirements set by both institutions.

Applications will be assessed by a Joint Faculty Council composed of representatives from UCSC (Prof. Carlo Torti) and Makerere University College of Health Sciences (Prof. Mark Kaddu Mukasa). Selection will be based on the following criteria:

For undergraduate students:

• Grade Point Average (GPA) of completed exams at the application deadline.
• Motivation letter.
• English language proficiency (minimum B2).

For postgraduate students:

• Academic excellence and research experience (CV and publications).
• Research focus and relevance of the proposed traineeship.
• Motivation letter.
• Reference letter.
• English language proficiency (minimum B2).

Attention will be given to applicants with disabilities and those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds.

Selected students will receive an Erasmus+ grant consisting of:

• Individual support: €700 per month (30 days).
• Travel contribution (round-trip): €1,188.

The grant is intended as a contribution to subsistence and travel costs during the mobility period.

• English language certificate or self-certification.
• Reference letter (postgraduate only).
• Research focus and experience (postgraduate only).

All selected students must comply with the Università Cattolica Student Safety Package, including the mandatory download and activation of the 'Safety Check Students' app for emergency geolocation and communication purposes.

The Safety Package includes health insurance coverage for the duration of the mobility.

Medical Malpractice / Professional Liability Insurance is not included and must be arranged independently by the selected students.
