When should you activate the internship?

You must start the activation procedure once you have received confirmation of selection from the host organisation or company.

Please note:
The International Office reserves the right to carry out all necessary checks on the internship destination in order to assess and confirm the activation of the insurance coverage.

What should you do if you are selected?

The procedure for recognising your internship as curricular is optional and does not apply to recent graduates.

Once you have been selected by a host organisation or company abroad, you may check whether the internship can be recognised as curricular, if your study plan provides for this option. To do so, you must consult the Internship Regulations for your degree programme and contact the Internship Tutor in your Faculty.

Each Faculty appoints Internship Tutors who are responsible for the academic and organisational aspects of curricular internships.Their names and office hours are available on the webpage dedicated to internships for your degree programme  (Course Details / Internships and Placements).

The procedures for awarding credits and the number of ECTS credits vary according to the regulations of each Faculty and degree programme.

For internships abroad, regardless of whether the credits are recognised, one additional ECTS credit for international activities will automatically be added to your academic record, provided that this is your first experience abroad with Cattolica International during your current degree programme.

After being selected, in order to proceed with activating your internship on the STeP portal, you must first check whether the host organisation or company abroad where you will carry out your internship is registered on the portal.

To verify this, you can contact the International Office by email at wea@unicatt.it. If the organisation is not yet registered, the company must complete the registration procedure independently by following the instructions provided in the Company Registration Guide.

Please note that registration must be completed exclusively by the company.

Once the registration request has been submitted, our Office will verify the information provided and approve it, sending an automatic confirmation email directly to the organisation.

Please note:
For internships with international organisations carried out remotely from Italy, since there is no physical mobility abroad, the insurance package is not required. Please contact the International Office at wea@unicatt.it for further instructions.
