Internships at Italian Schools Abroad

The programme offers students enrolled in the Primary teacher education degree course (Brescia campus) the opportunity to complete curricular internships at Italian private schools abroad, both at primary and pre-primary level.

  • 1st semester 2026/27 call: from 15 October 2025 to 14 January 2026
  • 2nd semester 2026/27 call: from 23 February to 15 April 2026

Selected students will agree directly with the host school on the exact internship period.

  1. Attend one of the dedicated info sessionsregister here;
  2. Complete the online application for the relevant call (Pre-primary or Primary) by uploading your CV and a cover letter in Italian;
  3. Pay the €35 non-refundable application fee.

The ranking is based on the criteria outlined in the document “Formulas for score calculation”.

Destinations will be allocated according to the ranking order and the candidates’ stated preferences during the application process.

Candidates may indicate a minimum of one and up to seven preferred destinations.
Assignments will only be made among the destinations listed in each candidate’s preference form; alternative placements will not be considered.

Internships carried out at Italian schools abroad are recognised as direct internships.

  • For T1 and T2, 5 ECTS credits are awarded.
  • For T3 and T4, 7 ECTS credits are awarded.

All practical information about the internship (total hours, reporting procedures, final report, etc.) will be provided by the Internship Tutors during the dedicated meeting.

After attending the meetings with Cattolica International and the Internship Tutors, students will be able to contact the host school to finalise the details of their experience and then activate the internship on the STeP portal, following the instructions in the Guide to Activating an Internship Abroad.

To support mobility expenses, financial contributions will be provided through Erasmus+ / Cattolica / MUR funds for all selected students who meet the eligibility requirements stated in the Regulations.

Selected students are responsible for covering:

  • Travel expenses
  • Meals
  • Accommodation
  • Any visa-related costs
  • Personal expenses while abroad
  • Insurance

Please note: accommodation arrangements are the responsibility of the student.

Selected students are required to subscribe to the “Student Safety Package” which includes an insurance policy and an emergency app. The activation cost is €75.

The policy includes:

  • Health insurance
  • Third-party liability insurance (for damage caused to people or property)
  • Workplace accident insurance

The insurance coverage is valid from 7 days before the official start date of the internship until 7 days after its official end date.

  3. Meeting for selected students organised by Cattolica International
  4. Meeting for selected students with Internship Tutors
  5. Contact with the host school in coordination with the Internship Tutor
  6. Completion of the trilateral agreement on the STeP portal and internship activation
  7. Completion of the mobility contract on the International Mobility portal and upload of pre-departure documents
  8. Internship abroad and disbursement of the first instalment of the scholarship
  9. Upload of post-return documents and disbursement of the final instalment of the scholarship
  10. Recording of internship ECTS credits
