The projects take place in Bangkok, one of the largest metropolitan areas in Asia. Its vast geographical size and population make it one of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities on the continent — a unique blend of tradition and modernity, with food markets, ancient Buddhist temples, and ultra-modern skyscrapers.

The distance between the accommodation and the project site may take up to an hour by public transport, due to heavy traffic.

Volunteers live with local host families in shared or single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Housing is located in close proximity to public transportation, which, in Bangkok, includes buses, subways, boats, and even an elevated Skytrain. 2 meals per day are included with the host family, and WiFi is also included.

There are 100 scholarships of €450 available.

The costs vary depending on the duration of the volunteer project.

  1. Application fee: €35 (non-refundable) - required during the program application phase.
  2. Deposit fee: €200 - required after the close of applications to confirm the intention to proceed with the enrollment.
  3. Programme fee (requested directly from World Endeavors after eligibility confirmation, see table below):

Bangkok

Volunteer at a local school serving children from 3 to 12 years old. The school is short of English-speaking teachers, so your assistance with teaching English will be very appreciated. You can also teach arts, music, dancing, and sports. You can also help teach English to the teachers and staff, as well as host an after-school English club for any interested students.

Another option is for you to volunteer at a local nursery that looks after children from 3 to 5 years old while their parents are at work. Volunteers assist in looking after the children, playing games, teaching English, serving meals, and assisting with creative activities like making puppets or arts and crafts projects.

Projects focused on environmental protection and wildlife conservation, promoting sustainability and community awareness through hands-on initiatives and educational outreach.

Activities include:

  • Participating in reduce-reuse-recycle and upcycling programs, as well as campaigns focused on plastic waste separation and sustainable environmental management;
  • Visiting local schools to lead educational workshops and activities about environmental conservation;
  • Supporting reforestation projects and eco-management campaigns across the Bangkok area;
  • Assisting local NGOs dedicated to animal welfare and rights, helping with administrative tasks, caring for stray or abused animals, and joining awareness campaigns in schools and communities.

This program allows volunteers to make a tangible contribution to both environmental sustainability and animal protection, while fostering environmental education and responsible practices within local communities.

Projects focused on supporting women, children, and vulnerable communities, in collaboration with local organizations that promote human rights, gender equality, and sustainable development.

Activities include:

  • Assisting shelters for women who are victims of violence or in vulnerable situations, working alongside social workers to provide care, support, and job training workshops;
  • Collaborating with local foundations engaged in areas such as sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, youth leadership, women’s empowerment, gender equality, health issue prevention (HIV, tuberculosis, malaria), and humanitarian response to crises;
  • Supporting community programs that help migrants and disadvantaged families, including working in a free nursery for children aged 3 to 5 — organizing games, creative projects, English lessons, and meal support.

This project allows volunteers to make a meaningful contribution to women’s empowerment, social inclusion, and sustainable community development, while gaining valuable experience in the field of social work and cross-cultural collaboration.

Projects focused on supporting local health centers and promoting public health across Bangkok’s communities. Volunteers work alongside doctors and nurses to assist with patient care, prevention, and health education.

Activities include:

  • Assisting at local health centers, helping in outpatient departments with patient vital signs and basic care;
  • Joining mobile health units to conduct community visits, providing physical check-ups, eye exams, vaccinations, and health consultations;
  • Participating in home or school visits to deliver health education sessions and health screenings for children and families;

This project is ideal for volunteers interested in community health and medical outreach, offering valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the wellbeing of local populations in Bangkok.
