International Summer Session,Fudan University

  • Access to the International Summer Session course offering at Fudan University. As this is an international summer school, all courses are taught in English and are therefore open to students from all Faculties.

Course Selection Guide

  • You may choose from 1 to 3 content courses (for a maximum of 6 credits).
  • Physical Education (PE) and Chinese language courses are optional.
  • Chinese language courses are offered at three levels:
  1. Elementary (also open to beginners)
  2. Intermediate
  3. Advanced

Please note: Chinese language courses are available only to students holding a non-Chinese passport.

  • Please consult the list of accepted certifications and the corresponding minimum scores. Only certifications obtained from May 2024 onwards are accepted:
    • B2 First: minimum score 160
    • TOEFL iBT: minimum score 65
    • IELTS: minimum score 5.5
    • Duolingo English Test (DET): minimum score 100
  • If you do not hold one of the certifications listed above, you may take the Cattolica International English language test.
    • During the online application process, you may select the date on which to take the test. It is recommended to sit the test at the earliest available date to avoid the risk of places running out.
    • The test will be held online and can be booked directly during the application process. The Zoom link will be sent by e-mail by the day before the test date.
    • The test may be taken only once.
    • If you have already taken the internal Cattolica International test for other study-abroad programmes (from May 2024 onwards) and achieved a sufficient result, you may choose not to take it again and keep the previous result. You must indicate the date on which the test was taken within the online application.
  • Students enrolled in a Cattolica degree programme taught entirely in English may access the programme by submitting a self-certification of enrolment in their degree course.
    • The document can be downloaded from the iCatt portal: Online Student Office – Declarations – Substitute certification declarations – Enrolment with study plan. Please note: the document must be completed and signed.
    • For the purpose of the scholarship ranking, a B2.2 level score will be automatically assigned.

 

Further information

The student can choose whether to stay on campus and thus take advantage of the facilities provided by FUDAN University, or to organize their accommodation independently. The student can also choose whether to stay in a single or double room.

Once the registration period has ended and the admission to the courses at FUDAN University has been confirmed, each student will receive instructions on how to book accommodation.

Students with a Chinese passport are invited to inform us by sending an email to: programmi.internazionali@unicatt.it.

Fudan University will provide a list of off-campus accommodations from which students can independently choose and book.

  • Single room: 150 CNY per day
  • Double room: 100 CNY per day

  • Application fee: 400 CNY
  • Tuition fee: 19,800 CNY
  • Programme fee: € 300 non refundable

 

This includes:

  • orientation and help when enrolling on courses at FUDAN University
  • assistance before departure
  • insurance cover and Student Safety Package
  • teaching assitants and buddies at FUDAN University
  • access to on campus services (including sport structures)
  • free wifi access
  • assistance on return with procedures for registering results of examinations taken abroad
  • "Welcome Back: unpack your experience!" session upon return to Italy, held by Cattolica International

 
The following are not covered by the cost of the programme:

  • return flights
  • accommodation and meals
  • visa costs
  • academic material
  • any items not listed specifically above

Università Cattolica offers 8 scholarships, each worth €1,000.

  • Please note that scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and are paid in the form of a reimbursement.
  • To apply, it is sufficient to enrol in the programme; no separate application is required.
  • When awarding scholarships, priority will be given first to current students and then to recent graduates.
  • For students holding qualifications obtained outside Italy, if no grade conversion has already been recorded in their academic career at Università Cattolica, an official score will be assigned as follows: 80/100 for the upper secondary school qualification and 90/110 for the Bachelor’s degree. No alternative or additional methods for recognising grades will be accepted.

Students selected for the programme must apply for a visa.

You can only proceed with your visa application after you have been accepted on the courses.

You must have a valid passport. If you do not have a passport, you must apply for one as soon as possible.
